Skype บริการโทรศัพท์บนอินเทอร์เน็ต หรือ VoIP ได้เพิ่มคุณสมบัติการทำงาน Video Chat หรือการเรียกสายแบบเห็นหน้ากันสำหรับแอพพลิเคชันบน iPhone, iPad และ iPod Touch ซึ่งถือได้ว่าเป็นแอพฯที่ให้บริการฮัลโหลแบบเห็นหน้าตัวจริงนับตั้งแต่ FaceTime เปิดให้บริการเฉพาะสมาชิกเท่านั้น
เนื่อง จากผู้ใช้ iPhone ทีใช้ FaceTime จะต้องมี iPhone และ iPod Touch ที่เปิดให้ใช้บริการ FaceTime ซึ่งผลที่ตามมาคือ ฐานผู้ใช้ที่ค่อนข้างน้อย ในขณะที่แอพฯ Skype เวอร์ชันใหม่ล่าสุดได้เปิดโอกาสให้ผู้ใช้สามารถใช้บริการเรียกสายแบบเห็น หน้า หรอ video calling บนผลิตภัณฑ์โมบายของ Apple ได้ฟรี ซึ่งแม้แต่ผู้ใช้ iPad ก็ยังสามารถใช้มันได้ ถึงแม้จะไม่สามารถเรียกสายได้ แต่ก็รับสาย video calling เพื่อเห็นหน้าเพื่อนๆ ได้
